Predictions are rating differences, not measured results — a typical miss is about 2.5 goals.
events/index.json and drop its file in events/. Every section below fills in automatically.
Groups ordered hardest first, by the mean rating of the teams drawn into them, as they stood the day the tournament started — how hard the draw was is a question about who you drew, not about what they did afterwards. A team with no MyHockeyRankings entry is badged and counted, using the estimated rating supplied for it.
Predicted goal differential is the gap between the two teams’ ratings, signed towards the home side. Fractional values are expected: a rating gap of 1.8 means the home team is favoured by about two goals. Games already played show the final score instead.
Answers come from the same ten thousand simulations the Brackets tab uses, so a number here is the page’s own. There is no model behind it: it knows a fixed set of questions and will say so rather than guess.
